The municipality in Dubai created a project to adorn its Zabeel Park with monuments gifted by sister cities including Istanbul. Accordingly, Istanbul municipality appointed İznik Foundation for applications of tiles to the monuments and our Foundation planned a design that would bring the two cities together. For the front and back facades of the large arch-shaped walls placed across each other in Zabeel Park, Architect and Miniature Artist Nusret Çolpan designed Istanbul’s and Dubai’s miniatures as tile panels. The panels adding soul to these monumental walls were produced according to the centuries-old prescription at İznik Foundation workshops.
