Restoration Of Bayburt Castle
As part of the restoration work initiated by Bayburt Governorship’s Provincial Tourism Office to promote Bayburt Castle for touristic purposes, tiles were produced for the castle walls.
The tiles were produced by the experts at İznik Foundation in the shapes, patterns and colors reflecting the Seljuks period to stay true to the original. The tiles in square and circle shapes started to be installed on the castle walls. A rare beauty with the tiles on its walls, Bayburt Castle will get its name “Çinimaçin Castle” back with this project.
The restoration of the castle is expected to be completed in the coming days and opened for visiting.
