Unesco Headquarters Building Tile Panel Work Paris, France

The 630cm x 240cm panel prepared for the Paris Headquarters of UNESCO, one of the world's most important non-governmental organizations, was produced entirely by hand in the foundation's workshops in Iznik. All elements of classical tile art were included in the design prepared for the panel over 15 m2, consisting of 168 tiles of 30cm x 30cm size. Although the "balanced harmony of geometry and objects", which is the most important feature of Iznik Tiles, draws attention on the panel; The flora image in traditional tile patterns is reflected in the design with the predominance of blue and red tones. The tulip motif, used in 540 different forms in Iznik Tile art, also stands out on the panel.
